MinEcut Summary

Number of clusters per parent for single photons

The cuts considered are 20 MeV, 50 MeV, 80 MeV, 100 MeV, 120MeV, 150 MeV, 180 MeV, 200 MeV
0 - 10 GeV10 - 20 GeV
30 - 40 GeV80 - 90 GeV

Number of parents per cluster in a central HIJING event

Tower occupancy in a central HIJING event

Effect on analysis

Dispersion

  1. On single photons, the change of cut has no effect on the dispersion.
  2. The cut determines at what energy the two photons from the decay of pi0 merge. Varying the cut from 100 MeV to 200 MeV does not change this appreciably.
Single photons with NO BACKGROUNDSingle π0's with NO BACKGROUND
Single photons with HIJING (same scale)Single π0's with HIJING (same scale)
Single photons with HIJING (double scale)Single π0's with HIJING (double scale)

Cluster moments

VERY VERY PRELIMINARY uncorrected for many things, especially unmerged pi0s
10 - 20 GeV photons in HIJING, minEcut = 300 MeV10 - 20 GeV pi0s in HIJING, minEcut = 300 MeV

Energy resolution

Energy resolution vs minEcut for 90 - 100 GeV photons

Energy resolution vs energy with a minEcut of 0.2 GeV
